Sokymat Automotive

Sokymat Automotive was founded 1964 as a manufacturer of coils for electrical machines and later on of microcoils for the watchmaking industry.
In the beginning of the 90's Sokymat Automotive started with the production of RFID transponders, consisting of coil and chip. Since 1995 immobilizer systems are demanded standard in every automobile to prevent car theft. Sokymat Automotive, meeting the demands of the insurance companies and the high quality standards of the automotive industry, today is one of the leading transponder producers worldwide. Transponders find their main implementation in immobilizer systems as well as passive keyless entry / keyless start systems.
In 2006, for the very first time, Sokymat rolled out SensorTag, a product newly developed in cooperation with the Swatch Group Electronic Systems companies (SGES). SensorTag is a passive RFID transponder equipped with an integrated analog-digital converter and programmable signal processing. The chip inside enables measurement of signals from an external sensor, as well as from the integrated temperature sensor, and allows it to send this information to an external reader. The large built-in EEPROM memory is able to record information specific to each client, as well as the sensor calibration data.
Sokymat Automotive is certified to the international standard ISO / TS 16949 (2002) just before joining the Swatch Group in 2003.
